Africa United Rugby League Incorporated

Africa United is based in Blacktown New South Wales , Australia It was formed from local players that were competing in local competition that were asked to play in the then ATP Redfern U/17 Harmony Nines Tournament in 2012 representing their African Heritage and again in October that year as U/16’s in the Harmony Cup. 2013 after the Harmony events of that year we were given an opportunity to travel to Queensland with U/18’s to play in the Pacific Islands Cultural Carnival assisted by some wonderful people Springbok Foods , Paul Sexton and Sharon Orapeleng. It was an amazing weekend being able to promote Rugby League to the African Community in south east Qld and the players represented their Heritage with great pride.
From this tournament there was a realization that we needed to provide something for our older members once they passed the age of 18 as the Harmony Nines and Harmony Cup only cater to U/16 and U/18 year age groups.

A stand alone club was formed to give these older players the opportunity to play in senior games against other regional teams and nations hence Africa United Rugby League incorporated is that stand alone club and has already played games against Latin Heat Development ,Peru,Latin Heat Elite, Mediterranean R/L and NSW Samoa. Africa United is enjoying steady growth and is open to all members of the African community from all the nations of the African Continent , we are unique in that we have been able to bring so many different African nations together under one banner playing in the same teams and still being able to provide the opportunity to participate for their individual nation when it allows an example will be a team entered in the Cabramatta 2018 international 9’s representing Sudan with players from soley from the Sudanese community.
